SPHERE resources on Mental Health |
|
Our primary focus in all of our resources is centred on the identification,
treatment and management of patients who suffer from depression
and anxiety disorders.
Because the area of mental health is so broad, we have aimed to
cater more specifically to both particular demographic groups in
the Australian community where mental health issues are more prominent
and for specific community needs in terms of treatment and management
of mental health disorders. Therefore, our resources cover the following
specialised areas of interest:
- Introductory to Depression, Anxiety and Somatic Distress: an introduction to the identification,
treatment and management of depression and related disorders.
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Strategies for Depression: non-drug therapies for depression and related disorders, including structured problem solving,
stress management, activity planning, sleep-wake cycle management,
supportive counselling, psychoeducation and cognitive therapy.
- Women’s Health and Depression: postnatal depression, pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder, depression during menopause.
- Depression and Anxiety in the Medically-Ill: depression in people with a medical illness including cancer,
cardiovascular disease, stroke and HIV/AIDS.
- Depression and Anxiety in Young People: depression in young people, including issues of self-harm and suicide prevention.
- Management of depression in older people (late-life depression): treatment and management strategies of depression in older patients.
- Positive Management of Persistent (chronic) Pain: treatment and management strategies of depression for patients
who suffer from long-term, persistent (chronic) pain.
